Twitter experienced a major outage that lasted about an hour Thursday morning.
The social media platform began experiencing the outage just before 8 a.m. EDT, with more than 54,000 complaints within the United States, according to Downdetector.
The outage was also felt in the United Kingdom, with around 98,000 reports recorded.

Users reported error messages on web and mobile, as well as the platform’s TweetDeck app, suggesting “over capacity” problems or that “something went wrong,” with Twitter directing users to “try reloading.” As people attempted to use the social media platform, they were logged out.

Service was restored around 9 a.m.
Despite the reports of an outage, Twitter’s status page said “all systems operational.”
The outage comes as Twitter is suing Elon Musk for attempting to back out of his bid to purchase the social media platform.

Twitter did not respond to the Washington Examiner’s request for comment.
