Elizabeth Warren: ‘My plan’ is to serve out full Senate term if re-elected

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., says she plans to serve out her full six-year term in the Senate if she’s re-elected in November.

Warren, who’s been considered a possible contender to be the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee in 2020, told reporters Thursday she is “not running” for president.

“Yes, that’s my plan. I’m running for the United States Senate in 2018,” she said, according to Politico, when asked if she would commit to serving out her full Senate term.

“I am not running for president of the United States. That’s my plan,” she added.

One of Warren’s Republican challengers, state Rep. Geoff Diehl, recently criticized her for being “more focused on running for president than doing her job,” according to Politico.
