President Trump is expected to meet privately with the Bush family on Tuesday ahead of the Wednesday funeral for former President George H.W. Bush, who died late last week at his home in Houston at the age of 94.
Trump will visit the Bush family at the Blair House, a government-owned guest house for the president, CNN reports. He is also expected to attend the funeral, but will not speak or eulogize the former president.
Trump and first lady Melania Trump paid their respects to Bush on Monday in the Capitol Rotunda, where he will lie in state until Wednesday morning. The president offered Bush a salute and the first lady put her hand over her heart as they stood by Bush’s casket.
A funeral will take place Wednesday at the Washington National Cathedral. The 41st president will then be taken back to Texas and will rest at the Bush Presidential Library at Texas A&M beside his wife, Barbara Bush, and their daughter Robin who passed away as a toddler after battling leukemia.
