Shakira, the Grammy Award–winning artist and Latin pop star, was attacked by a pair of wild boars in a Barcelona park, according to videos and images the singer posted to social media.
The singer, 44, was in the park with her 8-year-old son when the two boars approached and went after her handbag, the singer said.
“Look at how two wild boar which attacked me in the park have left my bag,” the Colombian Lebanese vocalist said in the Instagram story post. “They were taking my bag to the woods with my mobile phone in it. They’ve destroyed everything.”

Shakira, whose full name is Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, did not give any specifics as to the exact time or place the incident occurred, but neither she nor her son was reported as injured, according to the post.
Wild boars have reportedly become a growing threat in towns as they enter in search of food.
Another Barcelona resident was bitten by a boar near the city’s Tibidado Amusement Park in August after visiting his family to observe meteor showers and shooting stars, according to a report he filed with Barcelona City Hall.
Adult male boars can cause severe injuries with their teeth, experts said, and their build makes them hazardous in car wrecks.
Shakira confronted the wild hogs, according to her post.
“Say how your mom stood up to the wild boar,” she told her son in the video.
Aside from defying wild boars, the pop singer is also facing tax fraud charges, according to the Spanish court system.
In July, a judge ruled there was “sufficient evidence” to proceed to trial for evading roughly $13.9 million in taxes, according to case details.
