KN95 masks to be given to fans attending Super Bowl at SoFi Stadium

Face masks will be passed out to those attending the Super Bowl at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

Los Angeles County health officials announced the masks will be KN95 varieties and are part of county health and safety plans in preparation for the Feb. 13 game.

An LA County order was issued last August requiring attendees of large outdoor events that attract crowds of more than 10,000 people to “wear face masks at all times, except when actively eating or drinking,” regardless of vaccination status.

“Masks are required at all times to enter all of the events, to be in common areas, to purchase at concession stands and at indoor shops,” LA County Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer told the LA Times.

The LA County public health order does not dictate the type of mask worn but suggests the use of masks such as those of the KN95 variety.
