‘Ashamed’ Fox News commentator ends contract with ‘propaganda machine’

A Fox News contributor condemned the network with which he declined to renew his contract, saying he was “ashamed” to be a part of the “propaganda machine.”

“Over my decade with Fox, I long was proud of the association. Now I am ashamed,” Ralph Peters wrote in a email to colleagues and obtained by BuzzFeed.

“Fox has degenerated from providing a legitimate and much-needed outlet for conservative voices to a mere propaganda machine for a destructive and ethically ruinous administration,” Peters added.

Fox News said in a statement to the Washington Examiner that Peters has weaponized his opinion to gain attention.

“Ralph Peters is entitled to his opinion despite the fact that he’s choosing to use it as a weapon in order to gain attention. We are extremely proud of our top-rated primetime hosts and all of our opinion programing(sic),” the network said.

Peters is a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel and author. He was suspended from Fox for two weeks in 2015 after he called former President Barack Obama a “total pussy” on-air.
