The attempted attacks on former President Barack Obama and Bill and Hillary Clinton were “despicable” acts, the White House announced Wednesday after suspicious packages were intercepted by the Secret Service.
“These terrorizing acts are despicable, and anyone responsible will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law,” White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said in a statement. “The United States Secret Service and other law enforcement agencies are investigating and will take all appropriate actions to protect anyone threatened by these cowards.”

The Secret Service said on Wednesday it intercepted a package addressed to Hillary Clinton’s home in New York.
A second package addressed to Obama’s home in Washington, D.C., was also intercepted by Secret Service.
The Secret Service said the packages were identified during “routine mail screening procedures as potential explosive devices.”
Neither were delivered to their intended locations.
The incidents come after an explosive device, described as a pipe bomb, was found near the home of George Soros, a liberal billionaire philanthropist.
