The White House will follow through on President Trump’s threat to cancel his subscription to the New York Times and Washington Post, which he called “fake” newspapers.
The administration confirmed the news Tuesday to Politico after the president told Fox News host Sean Hannity that he may terminate his subscriptions to the outlets, which he claimed were consistently “wrong” about his presidency.
“All these people doing it for the New York Times, which is a fake newspaper, we don’t even want it in the White House anymore. We’re gonna probably terminate that and the Washington Post. They’re fake,” he said.
The statement came as the president fired off on the media for its coverage of his impeachment inquiry and the corruption accusations the president has made against Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden.
Trump called the media “corrupt” and said CNN’s Anderson Cooper was having to “apologize” during the debate for asking Biden about his son’s business dealings.
Democrats opened impeachment proceedings against Trump after he asked Ukraine’s president to investigate the Bidens over potential corruption.
