An 80-year-old Florida man named Donald changed his middle name to Trump in a show of solidarity with the 45th president of the United States.
Donald Trump McGovern, from Tallahassee, told the Tallahassee Democrat that he changed his name out admiration for the president and his leadership.
“I totally, totally believe in the man, because I totally believe in his forwardness,” McGovern said.
The name change request was reportedly filed on Jan. 6, and approved in April.
“He was originally an actor or a showman. That’s what you have to be in today’s world as a president,” McGovern said.
McGovern said he admires what he has seen of the president so far during his first year in office.
“I don’t understand a couple of things that he’s done. But still, he’s our chief and commander,” McGovern said, at which time the publication said he had tears in his eyes.
The man said he served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and has two sons with the middle name Kennedy.
