President Trump argued his administration is “running like a fine-tuned machine,” though he complained Senate Democrats are not confirming his appointments.
“I turned on the TV, open the newspapers and I see stories of chaos. Chaos. Yet it is the exact opposite,” Trump said during an afternoon press conference. “This administration is running like a fine-tuned machine.”
Trump complained about Senate Democrats not having yet approved all of his administration nominees, like former Indiana Sen. Dan Coats, who has been named director of national intelligence.
Things are going smoothly, Trump argued, “despite the fact that I can’t get my Cabinet approved and they are outstanding people.”
“Like Senator Dan Coats, who is one of the most respected men in the Senate,” Trump said. “He can’t get approved. How do you not approve him? He has been a colleague, highly respected. Brilliant guy, great guy. Everybody knows it. We’re waiting for approval.”
