Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said that if Democrats in the House want to impeach President Trump, it should be clear to the public why.
The California Democrat, in an interview with CNN’s Chris Cuomo on Thursday, responded to a question about some in her party calling for impeachment, saying, “I don’t think we should impeach a president for political reasons. But I don’t think we should not impeach him because we think it’s politically impeding for us to do so. We have to see what the facts are.”

She said that the party has to produce results for the American people, and cited wages, healthcare, and integrity in government, among other issues.
“Those will be some of our priorities,” she said. “If there’s evidence that the president should be impeached, it should be self-evident to the public and in a bipartisan way.”
Pelosi, who has sent in her letter to the caucus requesting their support in her bid to reclaim her position as speaker of the House, faces a group of at least 10 members opposed to her regaining the leadership job.
