CNN roundup of recent terror attacks ignores Israeli victims

CNN.com’s interactive feature showcasing all recent and suspected “high-profile” terror attacks in the last 30 days made no mention of recent acts of terror on Israelis.

The CNN report comes hours after a terrorist crashed a truck into an event in Nice, France, killing 84 and injuring hundreds more.

“Thursday’s deadly terror attack in Nice capped a 30-day period in which more than a dozen high-profile terror attacks or suspected terror attacks left hundreds of people dead across four continents,” CNN said on its website, adding, “Here’s a look at the attacks that have happened from June 14-July 14.”

The site then listed several major terrorist attacks, including a June 14 stabbing in Magnaville, France, a June 17 shooting in Adawama, Nigeria, and another mass shooting on June 25 in Mogadishu, Somalia.

Absent from CNN’s roundup, however, was any mention of the murder of 13-year-old American-Israeli Hillel Yaffe Ariel, who was stabbed to death in her sleep at her home in the West Bank by 19-year-old Palestinian terrorist Mohammad Tra’ayra.

That attack, which ended with Israeli authorities shooting and killing Tra’ayra, took place at the end of June.

The CNN feature also made no mention of the death of Michael “Miki” Mark, a 48-year-old rabbi who was shot and killed this month in the West Bank by a Palestinian terrorist.

Mark, the father of 10 children, was attacked as he was out for a drive with his wife and their 15 and 14-year-old children. His family survived the attack.

The omission of Ariel’s murder from CNN’s interactive feature is particularly curious considering the news group had previously covered her death.

CNN did not respond to the Washington Examiner’s request for comment.
