The Republican Party in the northern portion of Dallas encouraged supporters to turn out in high numbers to a town hall featuring Rep. Michael Burgess, R-Texas.
A flyer circulated prior to the Saturday morning event stated, “Do not allow this to be overrun by the left, as has been happening at other town halls across the country.”

The GOP also deemed the “participation event” a “rally to support the right agenda.”

The event was reportedly tense, like many similar town hall events held by Republican lawmakers in recent weeks, with attendees booing, shouting and holding up signs.
Burgess was a physician and has been in Congress since 2003.
