WASHINGTON (AP) — Organizers of the Blossom Kite Festival on the National Mall say the event has been canceled because of rainy weather.
The annual kite festival is part of the National Cherry Blossom Festival. The kite flying was originally supposed to take place Saturday near the Washington Monument. Organizers postponed the festival to Sunday because of poor weather. A second day of rainy weather forced the festival’s cancellation Sunday.
