Brandon Johnson will be inaugurated as Chicago‘s next mayor on Monday, taking up the mantle from outgoing Mayor Lori Lightfoot.
Johnson defeated former Chicago Public Schools CEO Paul Vallas in the April runoff election. Vallas and Johnson advanced to the final battle after beating Lightfoot in the February general election, making her the first incumbent in 40 years to lose reelection.
