Gary Johnson: ‘Crazy’ election my ticket to White House

Despite what the polls say, the “crazy” election leads Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson to believe he just may be the next president of the United States.

“As crazy as this campaign season is, I might be the next president of the United States,” Johnson said Wednesday evening on CNN. He thanked Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton for “spicing” the general election up.

When asked if Green Party nominee is siphoning too much support away from his third-party bid, Johnson replied: “No I don’t think so at all.”

“We’re drawing pretty much equally from both sides and I see that going all the way to the election. A wasted vote is voting for somebody that you don’t believe in,” he said, adding, “If you don’t vote your conscience, shame on you.”

Johnson said he is “really optimistic” that he’ll make the presidential debates, despite not yet having reached the 15 percent polling threshold needed to qualify.
