President Trump claimed that the White House is considering ending their subscriptions of the New York Times and the Washington Post.
The president made the quip while discussing former Vice President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, in a Monday interview with Sean Hannity.
“They gave Pulitzer Prizes to people that got it wrong, OK?” Trump stated. “All these people doing it for the New York Times, which is a fake newspaper, we don’t even want it in the White House anymore. We’re gonna probably terminate that and the Washington Post. They’re fake.”
“What does it say about the media?” Hannity asked Trump earlier in the interview, adding, “I agree with you.”
“The media’s corrupt,” the president responded. “Not all media is. Look, I know some great people, including you, but I know some great journalists.”
Trump also took a swipe at CNN’s Anderson Cooper for the way he asked Biden about his son during last week’s Democratic primary debate.
“I watched this crazy Anderson Cooper the other day during the debate,” Trump said, “apologize for having to ask the question to them. Apologize.”
He said that if one of his sons was accused of similar actions to Hunter Biden, it “would be the biggest story of this century.”
