President Trump insisted Thursday that the White House is a “smooth running machine” that the “fake news” media likes to purposely misrepresent as chaotic.
“Ivanka Trump & Jared Kushner had NOTHING to do with the so called ‘pushing out’ of Don McGahn,” Trump tweeted Thursday morning. “The Fake News Media has it, purposely,so wrong! They love to portray chaos in the White House when they know that chaos doesn’t exist-just a ‘smooth running machine’ with changing parts!”

Trump also posted a string of tweets renewing his claims that the media is the “enemy of the people.”
Trump has used this phrase frequently to attack the media since July, when he had a conversation about “fake news” with the New York Times publisher.
Trump announced Thursday that White House counsel Don McGahn would be leaving his post in the fall, following the hopeful confirmation of Supreme Court Justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
Reports emerged shortly after Trump confirmed McGahn’s upcoming departure that his daughter and adviser Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner urged McGahn to be “pushed out” of the White House.
According to the report, Ivanka Trump and Kushner were two of the individuals displeased with McGahn and he had become a “frequent target” for the duo. In his tweet, Trump denied that there is any validity to those reports.
