Cuccinelli Ad: ‘Virginia Deserves a Serious Governor’

On Thursday, the Ken Cuccinelli campaign released a new ad hoping to capitalize on an endorsement from a high-profile PAC in northern Virginia. The 30-second spot touts the endorsement from the Northern Virginia Technology Council’s political action committee and contrasts it with how PAC officials viewed the Republican’s opponent, Democrat Terry McAuliffe, after his interview.

“The Washington Post reports [the NVTA PAC] found Cuccinelli ‘precise’, ‘serious’, and ‘detail-oriented’,” the voiceover says. “While Terry McAuliffe was ‘uninformed’, ‘superficial’, ‘flamboyant’, ‘no details’, ‘all bulls***.’ ” Watch the video below:

The Post reported that McAuliffe’s campaign protested the PAC’s endorsement after it was clear he would not receive it. The NVTC PAC has endorsed centrist and business-oriented Democrats for governor like Mark Warner in the past.

Cuccinelli, who has trailed McAuliffe for months, is seeing a small bump in the polls, with two polls, from Quinnipiac and Roanoke College, released this week showing the Democrat with a three-point and one-point lead, respectively. The Real Clear Politics average shows McAuliffe ahead by 4.2 points.
