Trump mouths ‘I did it my way’ during first dance as president

President Trump and the first lady’s inaugural dance was to a song Frank Sinatra made famous, “My Way.” When the chorus started, the newly minted president mouthed “I did it my way.”

A trio of vocalists performed the song, which Paul Anka wrote decades ago. Trump sported a black tuxedo, while wife Melania wore a strapless off-white gown with a delicate ruffle across her chest. Vice President Mike Pence and his wife Karen walked out onto the dance floor in the middle of their dance and joined them.

Shortly after, the adult Trump children — Donald Jr., Ivanka, Eric and Tiffany — and Pence’s — Audrey, Charlotte and Michael — joined their parents for the duration of the song.

The president’s and vice president’s first dance took place at the Liberty Ball at the Washington convention center. The three singers were Nashville musicians.
