Dazzling feats from Russian American Kids Circus

Flying acrobatics, synchronized unicycling, artful juggling, acts of balancing and the magical effects of black lights make up the Russian American Kids Circus, set to wow a Maryland Hall audience 3 p.m. Sunday.

This is the fully-staged professional production’s fourth visit to Maryland Hall, where the stars — all children between the ages of 6 to 18, will perform dazzling feats.

The history of the circus dates to 1994, when Alex Berenchtein, former Moscow Circus Star, along with his wife, Regina, and mother-in-law, Olga Partigul, opened the nonprofit academy “The New Way Circus Center, Inc.” in Brooklyn, NY. The academy provides students with the opportunity to showcase their artistic expression by developing theatrical circus skills in a supportive, educational and entertaining environment. The academy’s advanced students formed the performing troupe, which came to be known as The Russian American Kids Circus on Stage.

Since its inception more than 10 years ago, the group has performed over 1200 national and international performances in 32 states and Canada. They have performed with Bill Cosby and other major stars and have been in commercials for CVS/Pharmacy, Coca-Cola and Target.

Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts is located at 801 Chase Street in Annapolis. Tickets cost $12 to $26. For more information about Sunday’s performance, call 410-280-5640 or visit www.marylandhall.org www.marylandhall.org.
