Malia Obama to become writer for Donald Glover’s Amazon show: Report

Malia Obama, the eldest daughter of former President Barack Obama, will reportedly become a writer for an upcoming series on Amazon, created by artist and actor Donald Glover.

Obama is among several writers being recruited to work on Glover’s project, called Hive, which will revolve around a “Beyonce-like figure” from the direction of Watchmen writer Janine Nabers, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Few details have been released about the project.

Glover reportedly left his deal with Disney’s FX to take the eight-figure deal with Amazon, which will secure a multiyear partnership.

Obama, 22, had other stints in the entertainment world, including an internship on the set of the HBO show Girls and at Harvey Weinstein’s production company, according to the Washingtonian.

Obama is also set to graduate from Harvard University later in 2021.
