NoVa roads would see major cash infusion under six-year outline

Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell’s $4 billion, omnibus transportation package, which passed the General Assembly this year, will infuse a significant amount of cash into many Northern Virginia transportation projects in the near future.

The Commonwealth Transportation Board’s fiscal 2012-2017 draft Six-Year Improvement Program (SYIP), unveiled Wednesday, includes a bevy of projects in perpetually congested Northern Virginia, according to the state Department of Transportation.
