First lady Melania Trump received the official White House Christmas tree and is ready to get started on decorating the People’s House for the upcoming holiday.
The 18-foot-tall Douglas fir was brought to the steps of the White House on Monday in a two horse-drawn carriage. It will be erected in the White House Blue Room to shine as the room’s centerpiece.
The tree was provided by Larry Snyder, owner of Mahantongo Valley Farms in Pitman, Pennsylvania, and recently won an annual contest held by the National Christmas Tree Association.
The U.S. Marine band played “O Christmas Tree” as Trump received the tree before waving to people gathered outside the White House lawn and posed for photographs.
