‘Not a fan’: Trump admits excluding Romney from coronavirus task force because of grudge

President Trump admitted he excluded Sen. Mitt Romney from a task force on the coronavirus because he holds a grudge against the Utah Republican.

Romney was the only Republican senator not asked to join Trump’s task force on reopening the economy after the pandemic begins to subside. Several of Romney’s Democratic colleagues are also on the task force.

Trump was asked by reporters Sunday whether the snub meant he was holding a “grudge” against Romney, who was the only Republican to vote to convict Trump during his impeachment trial.

“Yeah, it does. No, I’m not a fan of Mitt Romney,” Trump said. “I have 52 Republican senators —“

“He was a governor. You don’t want his advice?” a reporter asked.

“You know, I’m not a fan of Mitt Romney,” Trump said. “I don’t really want his advice.”
