Trump tells Megan Rapinoe: Win the World Cup before you talk smack about me

President Trump fired back at Megan Rapinoe after the star midfielder for the women’s national soccer team said she was “not going to the f—— White House” if they win the World Cup.

“I am a big fan of the American Team, and Women’s Soccer, but Megan should WIN first before she TALKS! Finish the job!” Trump said.

Rapinoe said she did not expect the team would be invited to the White House if it brings home the trophy, but she wouldn’t go even if an invite is extended.

“I’m not going to the f—— White House,” the 33-year-old co-captain told EightByEight magazine.

“No f—— way will we be invited to the White House,” she said. “[President Trump] tries to avoid inviting a team that might decline. Or, like he did when the Warriors turned him down, he’ll claim they hadn’t been invited in the first place.”

The team will be invited to the White House whether they win or lose, Trump said Wednesday.

Trump also said it was disrespectful for Rapinoe to protest during the national anthem.

“Megan should never disrespect our Country, the White House, or our Flag, especially since so much has been done for her & the team. Be proud of the Flag that you wear. The USA is doing GREAT!” he said.

Rapinoe followed NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick in kneeling during the anthem until the U.S. Soccer Federation began requiring players to stand while the anthem was played before games. She has since abstained from singing or putting her hand over her heart.

She criticized the federation for not having a conversation with her before the rule was imposed.

“We can actually have a conversation, instead of just telling me that it’s a privilege to pull on the jersey. Like, of course it’s a privilege for me to pull on the jersey. Part of that privilege is representing America, and representing America is representing all of America. So I feel like there was a major miss on that part, which is unfortunate,” she said last month.
