“Saturday Night Live” lampooned Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., attempting a do-over after her viral confrontation clashing with children about Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal.
However, what was intended to be a campaign message to rehabilitate her image repeatedly devolved into the senator getting frustrated with the kids and their teacher.
“I don’t come into your classroom and knock the Elmer’s Glue out of your mouth, so why don’t you step in your lane and step the fuck [bleeped] off,” Feinstein, portrayed by Cecily Strong, said when one student pressed her to support the Green New Deal.
At another point, Strong also asked the children to hand over the $93 trillion one study estimates the deal would cost. When she is told they don’t have the money, she exclaims, “We all lose” and laughs.
The repeated swipes at the kids results in Strong asking for do-overs.
The sketch also appears to include a cameo by Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., as the “SNL” cast member who usually portrays the 29-year-old freshman congresswoman, Melissa Villaseñor, appears among the children and speaks of the need to take action to save her generation.
Strong mockingly encourages her to run for office before offering a campaign donation: a middle finger, which was blurred out.
