Bristol Palin: I hope my mom endorses Trump

Bristol Palin wrote Tuesday that the Ted Cruz campaign’s pre-emptive criticism of her mother Sarah Palin is an example of why people dislike the Texas senator.

Cruz’s campaign said that a rumored endorsement of Republican front-runner Donald Trump would be a “blow to Sarah Palin” as Trump does not represent “the conservative cause.” The 2008 vice presidential nominee and former Alaska governor’s eldest daughter reacted angrily.

“After hearing what Cruz is now saying about my mom, in a negative knee-jerk reaction, makes me hope my mom does endorse Trump,” Bristol Palin wrote. “Cruz’s flip-flop, turning against my mom who’s done nothing but support and help him when others sure didn’t, shows he’s a typical politician. How rude … that he’s setting up a false narrative about her!”

Sarah Palin endorsed Cruz in his 2012 Texas senatorial primary.

Bristol Palin added, “You’ve also said, ‘She can pick winners!’ I hope you’re right, and that she endorses Donald Trump today for President.”

Sarah Palin tweeted her daughter’s post out to her followers, asking, “Is THIS why people don’t like Cruz?”

Trump is currently second in the Washington Examiner‘s presidential power rankings. Cruz is first.

Cruz responded on Twitter, “I love Sarah Palin. Without her support, I wouldn’t be in the Senate. Regardless of what she does in 2016, I will always be a big fan.”
