Avon Walk for Breast Cancer this weekend

On Saturday, the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer starts its annual trek through the District. Participants will walk 26.2 miles in a circular route that starts at the Washington Monument before it passes by the Supreme Court and weaves through historic Georgetown. On Sunday the walk goes another 13.1 miles past Embassy Row and the National Cathedral. Last year the D.C. walk raised $6.5 million — adding to the $55 million the organization has raised for screening and care in the D.C. area.
