NPS plans outdoor recreation program

The National Park Service is launching a program this summer to get more people off the couch and into the area’s national parks. The agency said it will spend nearly $85,000 for an outdoor recreation program in an effort to get Washington-area residents outside and moving. Under the D.C. Park Prescriptions program, health care providers and park managers will collaborate to promote health awareness and activities in the C&O National Canal Historical Park and other D.C.-area parks. — Courtney Zott
