THE DAILY OUTRAGE: Cruising for a bruising

Who: Federal Transit Administration

What: Spending $1.8 million in federal stimulus money on the maintenance of Oklahoma River Cruise boats.

Why it’s an outrage: Fewer than 12 passengers ride on each of the cruise boats’ scheduled trips. Fewer than 11,000 people have gone for rides on them. Despite the lack of use and the clearly superfluous nature of these ships, why can’t Oklahoma assume responsibility for them?

Where to vent: Call the regional Federal Transit Administration office at 312-353-2789.
