President Trump does not regret sending any of his almost 35,000 tweets, though he admitted some of them have not panned out well for him.
“I don’t regret anything, because there is nothing you can do about it. You know if you issue hundreds of tweets, and every once in a while you have a clinker, that’s not so bad,” he told the Financial Times in an interview published Sunday.
Trump credits his tweeting for putting him in the Oval Office.
“Without the tweets, I wouldn’t be here,” he said, citing the millions of followers he has between social media platforms. “I don’t have to go to the fake media.”
A year ago, Trump told supporters at campaign rally in Rhode Island that he would give up tweeting if he was elected president.
“Don’t worry, I’ll give it up after I’m president. We won’t tweet anymore. I don’t know. Not presidential,” Trump said.
