A swath of Alaska residents who have not received their payment from the 2023 Permanent Fund Dividend and are eligible will get their check from the state on Thursday.
They include those who had the “Eligible-Not Paid” status on Jan. 10 and had yet to receive a PFD payment for 2023 or earlier.
An Alaska resident applying for the Permanent Fund Dividend must intend to remain a resident of the state indefinitely and not be a convicted felon, among other requirements, to qualify for the state program.
Applications for the 2024 Permanent Fund Dividend opened earlier this month and will remain open for residents until March 31. The state says applications may be filled out online or via paper form.
The Permanent Fund Dividend program gives residents of Alaska a payment each year based on the state’s mineral revenues for that year. The 2023 check was worth $1,312 per eligible resident, and it was sent to residents beginning in October, according to the Alaska Department of Revenue.
“The 2023 PFD marks the 42nd year Alaskans have received their share of the state’s natural resource wealth,” Alaska Department of Revenue Commissioner Adam Crum said in a statement about the payment last year. “I would like to thank our Permanent Fund Dividend Division for their tireless work year-round in administering the program and processing the applications.”

Crum said that, in 2023, “we processed over 8,000 more applications than in 2022.”
