New York City Councilwoman Shahana Hanif called on Mayor Eric Adams to give the illegal immigrants flooding the city more resources and expand “right to shelter” policies.
“From a very young age, I saw myself as a fighter, and that’s what led me to the City Council,” Hanif, chairwoman of the council’s committee on immigration and co-chairwoman of its progressive caucus, told both the press and onlookers outside a Midtown Manhattan church.
