A D.C. police officer slammed into a car pulling out of a driveway in Southwest Washington on Monday, putting two people in the hospital in critical condition. The crash occurred at 4 p.m. in the 4700 block of Shepherd Parkway. Seven-year MPD veteran Bret Brown, 39, was driving northbound in a police-issued Chevy Suburban when he struck a Honda Civic.
The Honda’s driver, 21-year-old Andrea Williams of Fort Washington, and a passenger, 23-year-old Chidi Ihumoni of Quebec Place Northwest, were taken to a hospital in critical condition.
Brown, his K-9 passenger and a third occupant of the Honda suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Police say the crash is under investigation.
