WUTB-TV channel 24 announced Thursday it would begin offering its first regional newscast, “My 24 News,” which will begin airing Sept. 5.
The newscast, which will run weekdays from 5 to 9 a.m. and Monday through Sunday from 10 to 11 p.m., will be produced and anchored by WTTG FOX 5 in Washington.
The news product is designed to expand the relationship between Baltimore and the nation?s capital by providing in-depth coverage of the Baltimore/Washington corridor. Coverage areas will include Baltimore, Annapolis, Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, Columbia, Ellicott City, the Eastern Shore, Western Maryland, Glen Burnie, Severna Park and Washington.
“Working with WTTG to create a regional broadcast was a natural decision given the growing relationship between Baltimore and Washington, D.C.,” said Alan Sawyer, vice president and general manager of WUTB, in a statement. “Now, after tuning into MyNetwork TV shows in prime time, My 24 viewers can stay with us for the entire evening to get all the news they need to know from Charm City to Capitol Hill.”
