CHECKS IN THE MAIL: The Federal Trade Commission is sending out about $5 million in refunds to 13,000 Medicare Part D beneficiaries.

THE LISTS: The FTC said the pharmacy benefits manager RxAmerica, now a unit of CVS Caremark Corp., said certain drugs would cost less under its plans than they actually did. Refunds will go to patients who were overcharged and pushed into the “doughnut hole” gap in their drug coverage.

CASE CLOSED: CVS settled an investigation into the dispute in January.
