The majority of American voters don’t want President Trump to fire special counsel Robert Mueller, according to a new poll.
While 13 percent believe he should be fired, an overwhelming majority at 69 percent do not believe he should be fired, according to a newly released Quinnipiac poll.
Even though almost 70 percent believe Mueller should continue his investigation into Russian involvement in the 2016 presidential election, only 52 percent in this poll believe Mueller is conducting a “fair” investigation.
This is the lowest level of support expressed for the special counsel since the poll began asking the question about the “fairness” of Mueller’s investigation in November.
In regards to porn star Stormy Daniels alleged extramarital affair with Trump, overall 58 percent of voters believe the act occurred, however Republicans are divided on the matter.
Fifty nine percent of those polled believe that Trump knew about the payoff of $130,000 between Daniels and Trump’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen for her silence. That same percentage said they did not believe Trump’s knowledge of the payoff was an important issue.
