The Alaska Department of Revenue will send out checks from the Permanent Fund Dividend to a batch of eligible residents who have yet to receive their dividend checks in one week.
The state will send Alaskans who have not gotten their PFD payments from 2023 or earlier and had the “Eligible-Not Paid” status on the PFD website on Wednesday their checks from the program on Feb. 15.
A person must intend to remain a resident of Alaska indefinitely and must not be a convicted felon, among other requirements, to be eligible for a payment from the program.
Payments sent out from the Permanent Fund Dividend each year are based on Alaska’s mineral revenues for that year. Eligible residents got checks worth $1,312 from the program for the 2023 payment, with the distribution of the payments beginning in October 2023.
“The 2023 PFD marks the 42nd year Alaskans have received their share of the state’s natural resource wealth,” Alaska Department of Revenue Commissioner Adam Crum said in a statement about the 2023 payment. “I would like to thank our Permanent Fund Dividend Division for their tireless work year-round in administering the program and processing the applications.
“This year, we processed over 8,000 more applications than in 2022,” Crum said last year. “The 2023 PFD will inject nearly $1 billion into the state’s economy and directly into the hands of Alaskans.”
