Super Bowl 2024: Travis Kelce says obsession over dating Taylor Swift stems from their ‘values’

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce stated that he believes the public’s captivation for his relationship with music icon Taylor Swift is because of the “values” that the two share.

Kelce’s comment was made in a pre-Super Bowl interview when a reporter asked about the relationship he started with Swift last year, which has since gained wide attention from the public. The reporter also noted that some have referred to the couple as “the American royals” due to their careers as a football player and musician.

“I think the values that we stand for, who we are as people,” Kelce said. “We love to shine light on others, shine light around the people that help support us, and on top of that, I feel like we both have just a love for life.”

At about the same time Kelce started dating Swift, the football player caught attention online over a Pfizer commercial he starred in, which featured Kelce getting vaccinated against COVID-19 while getting a flu shot.

Kelce’s appearance in the ad was joked about by New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who referred to Kelce as “Mr. Pfizer”; when asked about the new nickname, Kelce laughed, joking that he did look like someone named Mr. Pfizer. Rodgers has also offered to do a debate with Kelce on vaccinations.

Ahead of the 2024 presidential election, some have questioned if Swift could endorse President Joe Biden in his bid for reelection. Swift has not been a stranger to supporting the Democratic Party in the past, endorsing Biden in the 2020 election against then-President Donald Trump.
