Bus stop pellet gun attack a hoax

Howard County police confirmed today that two boys confessed Monday night to lying about being shot with pellets at an Elkridge bus stop last week.

Police responded with increased patrols after an 11-year-old Mayfield Woods Middle School student said he was shot in the eyelid at the bus stop at the corner of Joetta Drive and Deep Run Boulevard on Wednesday morning.

The shooter was described as someone wearing camouflaged and perched in a tree.

Another 11-year-old said he was shot in the arm on Thursday at the same location.

Police said they have not determined the motive, and it’s not known whether charges will be filed.
