Stimulus update: Direct payment worth $1,312 to be sent to some Alaska residents in three days

In three days, the Alaska Department of Revenue is set to send out payments from the Permanent Fund Dividend to a swath of eligible residents who have yet to receive their dividend checks.

Alaskans who have not gotten their PFD checks from 2023 or earlier and had the “Eligible-Not Paid” status on the PFD website as of last Wednesday will receive their checks from the state program on Thursday.

The Permanent Fund Dividend sends out checks each year based on Alaska’s mineral revenues for that year. For the 2023 PFD payment, eligible residents got checks worth $1,312, with distribution of those payments beginning in October 2023.

“The 2023 PFD marks the 42nd year Alaskans have received their share of the state’s natural resource wealth,” Alaska Department of Revenue Commissioner Adam Crum said in a statement about the 2023 payment. “I would like to thank our Permanent Fund Dividend Division for their tireless work year-round in administering the program and processing the applications.

“This year, we processed over 8,000 more applications than in 2022,” Crum said last year. “The 2023 PFD will inject nearly $1 billion into the state’s economy and directly into the hands of Alaskans.”
