President Joe Biden excoriated House Republicans for impeaching Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas over the handling of the southern border.

“History will not look kindly on House Republicans for their blatant act of unconstitutional partisanship that has targeted an honorable public servant in order to play petty political games,” Biden wrote Tuesday.

The White House mocked House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) last week after House Republicans did not pass the same measure due to House Majority Leader Steve Scalise‘s (R-LA) absence from the chamber. This week’s 214-213 vote had the same Republicans opposing it, Reps. Ken Buck (R-CO), Mike Gallagher (R-WI), and Tom McClintock (R-CA).
