Weekly Examiner: Closing in on midterms

President Obama this week praised health care workers who travel to West Africa to help tend to those suffering from Ebola. Speaking at the White House Obama said, “We are likely to see a possible case outside of these countries and that’s true whether or not we adopt a travel ban, whether of not you adopt a quarantine.”

Friday morning, Obama took a trip to Rhode Island to speak at Rhode Island College in Providence. He focused on the economy and expanding opportunity for women and working families.

With just days to go before the 2014 midterm elections, politicians around the country were focused on campaigning. Hillary Clinton paid a visit to Iowa on Wednesday to rally Democrats and to stump for Democrat Bruce Braley, who is running in a closely watched Senate race against Republican Joni Ernst.
