State police seize close to $500,000 in fentanyl from Virginia home

A Virginia man was taken into custody after police seized close to $500,000 worth of fentanyl from his Chesterfield County home, authorities announced Saturday.

Anthony Pollard, 45, is facing multiple felony charges, including transporting a controlled substance into Virginia and possession with the intent to distribute, according to a release from the Virginia State Police.

Pollard’s residence was entered and searched following an investigation by law enforcement.

“The state police investigation led to investigators seizing approximately 3,000 grams of Fentanyl in powder form at Pollard’s residence,” the release said.

“The seizure has an estimated street value of $492,000.”

In total, the amount of fentanyl powder recovered from Pollard’s North Chesterfield residence is roughly 6.6 pounds.

The investigation into Pollard remains ongoing, and he is slated to appear in court on March 7.
