Ellen DeGeneres plans to end her longtime talk show in 2022.
The Ellen DeGeneres Show is on its 18th season and will wrap after Season 19.
“When you’re a creative person, you constantly need to be challenged — and as great as this show is, and as fun as it is, it’s just not a challenge anymore,” DeGeneres said Wednesday.
THE ELLEN DEGENERES SHOW UNDER INTERNAL INVESTIGATION AFTER REPORTS OF TOXIC WORK ENVIRONMENT
“Although all good things must come to an end, you still have hope that truly great things never will,” Warner Bros. Unscripted TV President Mike Darnell told the Hollywood Reporter.
The show has lasted nearly two decades, recorded over 3,000 episodes, and has conducted 2,400 celebrity interviews.
Amid reports in 2020 that an internal investigation was launched into her show after complaints surfaced alleging a toxic work environment, DeGeneres apologized in July for letting her show’s workplace fall from a “place of happiness,” saying that she would “ensure this does not happen again.”
