Ex-San Antonio police officer gets prison time for sending pictures of minors via Snapchat

A former San Antonio police officer was sentenced to eight years in federal prison Tuesday for sending explicit videos of children on Snapchat.

Sebastian Torres, 27, will be subjected to 15 years of supervised release after his incarceration, according to the FBI and the U.S. attorney’s office. He pleaded guilty in February 2020 to one count of distribution of obscene visual representations of the sexual abuse of children.

Torres used Snapchat to send eight videos depicting him performing a sexual act upon himself to a female acquaintance, as well as several videos of children being sexually abused to a different person, according to documents obtained by KSAT.

During the investigation into Torres’s actions, he allegedly told officers he was engaged in group chats that shared sexual content.

“I have been in group chats where it turns into like, there’s a minor there, and it’s like, ‘Ah that’s too much’ and I exit the group chat,” Torres said, according to the documents.
