Walker, a Senate candidate from Georgia, said he will “pray for” MSNBC and Elie Mystal, a justice correspondent at the Nation, after Mystal called Walker “unintelligent” and referred to him as a “Negro” during a segment on The Cross Connection with Tiffany Cross on Monday.
HERSCHEL WALKER’S CRITICISM OF GREEN NEW DEAL GOES VIRAL
“You know, a lot of people have been asking me to say something about the man on MSNBC that called me the N-word. Here’s what I gotta say about that. Shame on MSNBC, and shame on him. I’m going to pray for both of them — because they need Jesus,” Walker said in a Twitter video on Monday.
“When I saw what he said, it reminded me of the differences between myself and my opponents, Sen. [Raphael] Warnock and the left-wing crazies that think America is fundamentally a bad country, full of racist people,” Walker added. “They want to divide us, turn us against each other. We have our problems, but we can solve them together. You know, this is a good country full of good people. With God’s help, we’re going to bring the people of Georgia back together. Let’s make this a great day. God bless.”

Mystal told Cross on Monday that the Republican Party is supporting Walker’s candidacy for Senate in Georgia because Walker is lacking “independent thoughts” and is “going to do what he’s told.”
“Now, you ask why are Republicans backing this man who is so clearly unintelligent, who so clearly doesn’t have independent thoughts, but that’s actually the reason,” Mystal said.
“Walker’s going to do what he’s told, and that’s what Republicans like. That’s what Republicans want from their Negroes — to do what they’re told,” Mystal added.

Mystal later responded to Walker’s tweet, claiming that the Senate candidate’s retort is an attempt to “appeal to conservative white” people who want to use “the N-word.”
“I of course did not call [Walker] ‘the N word,'” Mystal tweeted on Monday. “But, once again, you see the play here. He’s trying to appeal to conservative whites who believe ‘all black people use the n-word, why can’t I?’ He’s trying to validate their racial hangups, and play a vicitm.”

In the most recent quarter, Walker, who has been endorsed by former President Donald Trump, trailed Warnock in fundraising by a wide margin. Warnock brought in a haul of $17.2 million compared to Walker’s $6.2 million.
Walker’s campaign has been mired by controversy, including the Heisman Trophy-winner falsely claiming to have been an FBI agent, reports surfacing that Walker has three previously undisclosed children, and comments about air pollution that went viral.
