The six children were found inside their home with two adults, who were also found dead when police arrived at the scene. The deaths are being investigated as homicides, but the Broken Arrow Police Department said there is not a danger to the public.

The ages of the children range from 1 to 13, police said. Police Chief Brandon Berryhill said during a news conference on Friday that the children were found in a bedroom in the back of the house and the parents were located in the front of the house.

The house was on fire when police arrived on Thursday at about 4 p.m. Police also recovered guns from the house.

Fire Chief Jeremy Moore said during a press briefing on Friday that his department does not believe any of the victims died from the fire, but specific causes of death will be determined by a medical examiner.
