Rubio hits back at Biden’s ‘mega-MAGA trickle-down’ economics attack on GOP

HIALEAH, Florida — Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) ripped President Joe Biden for warning last week that “mega-MAGA trickle-down” economics will exacerbate inflation and risk the country’s credit rating.

“I think Biden’s politics are crashing our economy,” Rubio told the Washington Examiner on Monday after a rally in Hialeah. “I don’t think someone who’s, in less than two years, done so much damage to our economy has any credibility to talk about somebody else destroying the economy.”

Rubio held the Spanish-speaking event on Florida’s first day of early voting but switched to English to criticize Democrats for not condemning political violence after an elections canvasser wearing a Rubio T-shirt and a Gov. Ron DeSantis hat (R-FL) was allegedly assaulted nearby by four people the previous day.

Gov. Jeanette Nunez and Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (R). “In this country, we decide who governs not by street mobs. We decide who governs at the ballot box.”

For Rubio, it is “interesting” Democrats “love to talk about political violence” but “not when it’s their people when they’re burning down cities.”

“Where are the hearings on the riots of 2020?” the senator asked. “Where are the hearings on the pro-life pregnancy centers that are being firebombed and the Catholic churches being sprayed with graffiti?”

“Have you heard any more about the guy that got on a plane and flew across the country to assassinate Supreme Court Justice [Brett] Kavanaugh?” he added. “On the other hand, they spend a lot of time and energy trying to prosecute parents and call them terrorists who complain to the school board.”

Rep. Val Demings (D-FL), who is running against Rubio to represent Florida in the Senate, denounced all “violent crime” Monday afternoon and said those charged should be prosecuted “to the full extent of the law.”
